View Article  Knit with Pride!
The Tea Lounge have joined the campaign to "Knit with Pride" and create a giant rainbow scarf for Norwich Pride. Artist helenofnorwich is audaciously attempting to break the world record for continuous knitting and cover the balcony of City Hall with the scarf. Norwich City Hall has the longest balcony in the country - it's 365ft - so she needs a lot of help. Helen is organising "Knit-Ins" across the city and wants to link with local churches. The Tea Lounge have become an official Knit-Stop where you can drop off squares, pick up wool and even knit a few rows whilst having a cuppa. I find myself knitting through all my meetings now! For more information about "knit with Pride" go to the Norwich Pride website.

Saw an amazing play at the Playhouse tonight. It was called "Hearing Voices" and was by Clare Summerskill. It was the story of her time on a mental health ward. There was some amazing acting from the company who all played lots of very different roles. I've done several different filmmaking projects with people with mental health issues so the play felt especially poignant. Our films often capture people's memories so i felt quite emotional seeing similiar stories brought alive on stage. For more details of Clare's work check out www.claresummerskill.co.uk
View Article  Good luck Maggie!
Was in Aylsham today filming Jeannette at the Get Involved Group for the Partnership Board DVD. My old pal Maggie was there on one of her last days at work as the Involvement and Empowerment Team Manager at Norfolk Learning Difficulties Service. Maggie has got a new job at a regional level. It's going to be interesting to see how the Partnership Boards work across the region and whether others create DVD reports too. I'm keen to hear if there's other Shelly Tellies in neighbouring counties and what kind of community filmmaking is happening elsewhere. Maggie has done fantastic work here in Norfolk and will be much-missed. As you can can, the group today gave her a lovely bunch of flowers to wish her luck.

The Superfoods Team were back in town today to finish off the project by packing the DVDs. We grabbed the lovely long table at the Tea Lounge and broke the job down into different stages. Cathy put the cover in; June put the leaflet in and Sheila put the DVD in - it was poetry in motion! The DVDs looked great - big thanks to Tom Bullard for his fab design work on the packaging. Sheila sent some lovely feedback later: "Thanks for everything. You added so many good things to the project and I have really enjoyed working with you. I have just watched the film again and it is so good"
