Had a cuppa with a lovely woman called Pat Howe today. Pat runs a voluntary group called Spirit of Carnival and they are organising a Community Parade called Fridi Gras in Norwich on Friday 9th July. I met Pat at a meeting about Norwich's bid to become a city of culture. Pat is keen for Norwich Pride to be involved in Fridi Gras and can offer us workshops and materials to create costumes. Sounds fab - will be wonderful to be embedded in a mainstream cultural event and dance alongside schools and charities and community groups. And it's a great opportunity for me to learn some costume-making skills for Shelly Telly.
